In an exciting and provocative move, Feeding The Fire has teamed up with Jason Goodman of 21st Century 3D to produce the world's first television cooking show in 3D, and we have raised the bar in the kitchen by bringing in a new host who is bright, funny and brings with her a professional cooking background.Laura_Klein

By now you must be aware of the recent resurgence of 3D in the movies starting with the monster hits Avatar, and Alice In Wonderland, and it is quickly making its way to the small screen and into your home. You can go into any department or electronics store and purchase a 3D HDTV right now, and there are several networks already broadcasting in 3D with many more slated to start up by years end.

Sara_Under_TruckSo why a cooking show in 3D? Well, Feeding The Fire is not just a cooking show: as you know we go into the firehouse to see how real firefighters live and work and eat, and the 3D experience makes it feel more real. The modern 3D production is less about things coming out of the screen and in your face, and more about depth--using perspective to draw you into the world of the firehouse, making the experience more real, and more exciting!

Our partnership for this new venture was a logical one as Jason Goodman has been working in 3D for almost 20 years and his company, 21st Century 3D is on the leading edge of the industry, having developed several camera systems, and produced live action feature films and countless concerts and Corporate videos.

A New Dimension, A New Host

LauraAnd as for new looks, our new host Laura Klein is a cooking expert and graduate of the Professional Cooking Program at the New School of Cooking, and has been hosting television shows such as Organic Authority Healthy Cooking, The Andrew and Laura Show and Better Living with Laura Klein as well as being featured as a cooking expert on several National and local TV shows. She brings to the show a new level of cooking expertise and a lively, charming attitude that fits in perfectly with the firehouse crews as was shown in our first 3D production at the Santa Monica Fire Station #3 this past weekend.

With the help and cooperation of Santa Monica's Battalion Chief Jose Torres, we went to Station 3 where Engineer Leigh Seaton showed us his crew's favorite dish, a sustainably caught fresh Chilean Sea Bass with roasted potatoes and shrimp-stuffed mushrooms. And Laura discusses the sex appeal of fresh asparagus!

kitchenIt's another hot show and we had a great time making it and I know you will want to see it soon. The technology takes a little longer in editing but we are on track to have a streaming version for you to see by the end of July. And hopefully will find a home for it on a 3D network in the near future so we can bring episodes to you on a more regular basis.

Stay tuned!
