If Dewey Atkocaitis' true calling wasn't to be a firefighter he would have owned a restaurant, because he just loves being in the kitchen.
So what does a confessed lasagna-holic with an innate desire to serve mankind do when he cooks for a crew of firefighters who love Buffalo-style chicken? He creates Buffalo chicken lasagna, of course. And so when Dewey invited us over to see how he makes this one-of-a-kind dish, we jumped at the chance. And the best part is that he has designed it to be made in just about 90 minutes from start to finish.
In this episode of Feeding The Fire, we go to River Grove, IL where Chief Dewey shows Jim a quick and easy way to make lasagna with a unique new twist. Along with creating new ways to feed his crew, Chief Dewey has also been involved in developing fire prevention programs such as the state-wide Junior Fire Setters program and Tim took the opportunity to sit down and talk with him about this very important work.
As the name of the town implies, a river runs right through the center of it and Tim finds out about the dangers this could pose for the community and what the FD does to prepare for it. All this on another exciting episode of Feeding The Fire.
